A magnetic embrace

This is a quadrille submitted to the D’verse poetry page

Your healing,

seemingly random,

barely understood,

as you intend.

Finding that fluttering life muscle

behind my dead eyes,

you palpate gently

until wisdom’s heartbeat returns

These words,

these iron filings of my secret armour,

seek your magnetic orbit

and the grace of your embrace.

  1. Love this! It’s beautiful and brilliant. I adore these lines especially:

    “These words,

these iron filings of my secret armour,

    seek your magnetic orbit

and the grace of your embrace.”

I think this piece delineates how love can heal you and your inner wounds, how it can make an individual want to change and become better. We also seek out that comfort because of the feelings it brings. An evocative and eloquently penned piece, Doug. It’s always a joy to read your work.
