Alien snow shovels peeking in the window

This piece was written for a photo prompt on the Friday Fictioneers blog

Empty restaurant

‘So, where are these humans?’

‘I don’t know. They were here yesterday!’

‘What were they doing?’

‘They were putting things in the hole at the top of their bodies that they use to communicate.’

‘That’s really weird. If we put things in the hole at the top of our body they’d just fall out again.’

‘Weirder still, the things included a red liquid. When one stood up he was moving very strangely. Then he came outside and put a cylinder in his hole and burned it. Today, nothing.’

‘Hmm. Maybe they de-materialised and are dormant in their isolation pods.’

  1. I think your cute tale is best summed up by the words of Robert Burns:
O wad some Pow’r the giftie gie us
To see oursels as ithers see us!

And thank you, Doug, for following Sound Bite Fiction
